Why is it beneficial for a personal time-out, and what does it have to do with healing and self-care?
Healing comes when we practice self-care by taking a personal time-out to reevaluate and assess where we are in life. It’s essentially a pause. To reflect on what matters and what doesn’t. And to release everything that doesn’t serve us. From this vantage point, we gain a broader perspective. If too focused on everything that’s wrong, on what no longer works, on those things that don’t matter, we get trapped in a state of circular negativity. Negativity begets negativity. As the saying goes, what goes around comes around.
Do something nice for yourself today. Find some quiet, sit in stillness, breathe. Put your problems on pause. You deserve a break.
Negative thinking places us off-center, out of balance, and on the wrong trajectory. In pause mode, we tap into healing. With healing, we come out on top, revitalized and restored. This is where we stand in strength, and with confidence, we have a different attitude, and attitude is everything. It helps us set the right intentions and from here, our behavior and actions follow suit. Whenever we think there isn’t a way to move forward, the right pathway appears, paving the way to freedom. Inhibition aside, leaves us open to spontaneous creativity. Imagine that.
TUNING IN
Every situation you go through in life allows you to validate who you are at that moment. The circumstances you encounter will teach you valuable life lessons if you only take the time to tune in. But to tune in, you first have to embrace a personal time-out. Whenever you savor downtime, you view things through a different lens, which gives you a different outlook on life. One that has you not only hopeful, but optimistic.
There are things we can fix in our lives and those we can’t. Some things remain broken and unfixable. Nevertheless, it isn’t our place to fix everything or to understand everything for us to appreciate everything. Wise management of time and energy, going with the flow, letting time and space work out the kinks will be all it takes to get back on track. When we step back, reassess, and adopt a different approach, in the workplace, within a social circle, in a relationship, or within a family, this is where time-outs are invaluable. But we don’t just fall into a personal time-out. It takes a little focus, some energy, and a little effort. The benefits of taking a personal time-out far outweighs any perceived disadvantages.
Breathe. Let go. And remind yourself that this very moment is the only one you know you have for sure.
GOING WITH THE FLOW
With so many misunderstandings, stemming from a tendency to misjudge, miscalculate, and misinterpret, especially when we take little to no time for ourselves, we miss out altogether. Only to end up in a space of confusion where we are left asking, what just happened? What happened is, we got caught up in something we shouldn’t. However, when you step away, unwind, and reflect, it’s likened to a scene from a movie, where everything moves in slow motion around you. This is where it’s just you, at peace, in a state of calm, while everything around you is out of sync.
Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you.
I’m not saying it’s okay to be okay with what isn’t okay. However, sometimes accepting things as they are could be the best thing for us. It’s in that carefree space that speaks to our soul, saying everything will be just fine. Oh, sure, there will always be things we must dismiss, stuff we have to release, stories we have to put to rest, and memories that we should erase. But this never happens when we’re wired and always spinning our wheels.
We let things flow by letting them go; releasing allows us to open our lives to more important aspects of life. Life will always meet us where we are. If there are things we have no control over, then I’m a big proponent of a time-out. Just let it be, move along, and keep it moving. Some of these spaces don’t deserve attention.
Nothing external to you has any power over you.
THE RELEVANCE OF A PERSONAL TIME-OUT
Everything that matters most takes time to nurture. Things don’t always happen the way you want them to. It may take a while before you can even see through situations, requiring more insight, awareness, and understanding. I can attest to the fact that anything worthy and of value takes time. It begins with a personal time-out. Time away, time apart, or time alone reignites something within, stirring enthusiasm that can prompt us to sway from what wasn’t ideal… to something quite awesome.
You find peace not by rearranging the circumstances of your life, but by realizing who you are at the deepest level.

You really have great content. I have recently started a blog, and I must say the information you provide on this website helps me greatly. Thanks!
I have been browsing online and must add, there’s no other site with interesting articles like yours. Personally, if all website owners and bloggers made excellent content material as you, the internet would be much better.
There are definitely plenty of points you deliver that a reader can take into consideration. Inspiring! Clearly there’re questions like the ones you mention which are powerful factors to consider. Trustworthy info, I must add. I don’t know if best practices have emerged around such issues, but I’m certain you as a writer can clearly identify those matters. Readers can feel the affect of your writing, and will be more the wiser.
