What can we learn from negative experiences? A great deal. We learn how to survive and how to cope. We discover what to do and what not to do. But how do we get beyond the point of uncomfortable, when we’re amid a crisis, balancing self-isolation with social-distancing? That depends on us, on who we are, and what we believe. Nevertheless, we must remain not only vigilant but positive. It’s important we continue making better life choices amidst the unknown.
I think that God gives you your own will and choices. I don’t believe that we’re supposed to drag ourselves through life defeated and not see God’s blessings. But you have to make the right choices and follow that still, small voice within you. Because I think that’s how God leads us.
New beginnings are possible but it’s determined by what we do, regardless of the situation we face, but first, we must let whatever is happening run its course. We let go of what was and accept the changes taking place. It’s all about adjusting to our current circumstances and adapting to these new conditions.
Adaptability serves us well, especially when we haven’t healed from the shock, from the setback, from the hardship, and from heartbreak. We have yet to realize healing, and it will take time before we come out on the other side of this pandemic.
MAKING BETTER LIFE CHOICES
What makes this period in time so trying is that we miss the life we once had and knew. And in the midst of it all, we have unanswered questions, and the answers we need never arrive when we need them the most. Answers that will move us from indecisiveness to decisiveness, so we can proceed toward a new normal with clarity.
When we waver too long in the unknown, ambivalent and uncertain about our future, we have the tendency to panic. When alarmed, we just end up nowhere because we can’t think clearly. I’d rather be somewhere than nowhere. We have to get out of a mindset that keeps us stuck believing the wrong things. How do we get ourselves unstuck? By doing something different, we get our minds off what causes unease and instead focus on what we love.
You and I are essentially infinite choice-makers. In every moment of our existence, we are in that field of all possibilities where we have access to an infinity of choices.
We can take the valuable time we have to review and assess where we are now and what we can do to change something in our lives for the better. We can focus on what to do to improve the situation we find ourselves in. This way, we shift our attention away from what troubles us. With adaptability, we are not only resilient, but we think differently about what we need to create to make this life better.
