Sweet Christmas wonder, why do we love you so? Could it be in the northern hemisphere the crisp winter air carries in the spirit of Christmas? Or in the southern hemisphere, where the spirit of Christmas dances its way on the palm branches as each sway in the warmth of a tropical or temperate winter? The sun creating a magical glistening shimmer on the carpet of snow, or casting its beam of light on the beauty of the ocean swells? Snowflakes gently gliding and catching a ride on a winter breeze? Perhaps, the aroma of pies and cookies baking? Maybe the scented candles permeating the air with their festive spicy fragrance? A twinkle in the eye of every child? Or the dazzling sparkle of a Christmas tree? The glowing warmth of the fireplace? Whatever it is, I believe it is so much more.
The spirit of Christmas is the spirit of love and of generosity and of goodness. It illuminates the picture window of the soul, and we look out upon the world’s busy life and become more interested in people than in things.
It doesn’t matter what part of the world you live, it’s an inexplicable feeling that only seems to arrive once a year. During Christmas we garner the feeling of hopefulness, of warmth, of trust, and heartfelt generosity. Christmas wonder captured in our hearts, exuding perfect love, peace, and joy. There are those who celebrate it and those who don’t. Everyone acknowledges it in their own special way. Some of us have unique traditions, personal values, and individual beliefs.
CHRISTMAS WONDER – MAGICAL
Christmas is not a time nor a season, but a state of mind. To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas.
Whether you are spending it alone or with others, it doesn’t matter. What matters is what you make of this special gift. Whether you view it as two glorious days of celebration or two quiet days of retrospection and restful contemplation. We have the freedom to believe in what we wish. Christmas is when we believe in the supernatural, the mystical, and the enchanting. It is a celebratory occasion when we take time to acknowledge the meaning behind the miraculous birth of Christ, He who brings the greatest gift… hope.
Christmas in Bethlehem. The ancient dream: a cold, clear night made brilliant by a glorious star, the smell of incense, shepherds and wise men falling to their knees in adoration of the sweet baby, the incarnation of perfect love.
