Life isn’t meant to be serious all of the time. And we are way too serious. We have to balance out work with play. To go after what we want shouldn’t really be an issue, but for some of us, it is. The thing is, we get too serious, lose focus, and end up on the wrong track. This is when we have to ask, “What do I need, to get me to where I need to be?” Perhaps, to get our answer we will have to engage a lighthearted approach, so we can tap into our creativity. When we venture into creative mode, we are far more inclined to hit on success. For creativity leads to success.
If we’re honest with ourselves, life supports us along the way and something will shift. When we shift tracks we end up outside a comfort zone where we would like to feel ok, but are we really ok? Whenever we aren’t feeling right about something in life we have the tendency to get caught up in whatever distracts our attention.
Perhaps work is your distraction. Maybe for others it’s projects or hobbies. For the majority it tends to be the devices. For me it’s writing. I must admit I get lost somewhere between the pages where time escapes me. Until I discovered, I’ve not returned phone calls in a while. What? Another time when I ok’d an invitation, and said yes to a function, only to forget to place the dates on my calendar. Really? I know, not good. Sadly, I had to retract an important RSVP because I made other plans impossible to cancel. Lost in time and distracted, can create problems.
THE NEED TO EXPRESS OUR ENTHUSIASM
How many of us get lost in something we love? However, getting lost in this place will never be enough. The time-out in a solo energy is fine for a while, but then we need to reconnect with others in order to maintain balance. The trouble is we not only love our comfort zone, but we get stuck there. And even though we enjoy what we do and do what we love, life has a way of calling attention to itself. It tells us that there is more to our story, more to life. Much more.
Creativity is a precious energy, and it’s something to be protected. A lot of people take for granted that they’re creative, but I know from experience, it’s a magic; it’s energy. And it can’t be taken for granted.
WORK-LIFE BALANCE
It’s one thing to get entrapped in a mundane life, but we need something new that can inspire and motivate us to get our mojo back. If we know that time spent alone is beneficial, and newness has a positive effect, then we also know breaking free from routine urges we return to reconnecting with others. We do this by first connecting to our playful energy. If we suppress this natural tendency, then what happens is our creativity becomes blocked… comparable to a writer’s block… staring at a blank screen is not fun. Similar to looking at an empty calendar, not good.
We need to express and whenever we suppress the expressive side we end up with inactive energy. Not a great place, as I learned, like attracts like, and inactivity in any area of life creates stagnancy. Stagnant energy leaves you feeling blocked and disconnected. Frustration moves in because we can’t overcome what seemingly holds us back.
CREATIVITY LEADS TO SUCCESS
Being stuck in a rut can kill your creativity, stress you out, and zap your productivity. Doing the same thing over and over again causes your days to blend together.
We require a creative edge as a means to achieve success, because we are usually more well-rounded and resourceful in solving life’s unexpected problems. When we can creatively solve problems, whether ours or someone else’s, we are more likely to be successful.
PLAYFUL NATURE LEADS TO CREATIVITY
It’s important to take some time outside the comfort zone, to let go and do something different. Perhaps, break a routine. Who knows, while you are having fun, you’ll meet new people and make new connections. The key is to have fun and simply enjoy the magical flow of playful and creative energy.
Sometimes we need a breakthrough, so we can recapture our youthful enthusiasm. And this uninhibited eagerness motivates us to engage in a creative flow. By tapping into this carefree spirit, it enables us to not only freely breakaway, but yield to a playful nature that leads to creativity. And we all know, creativity leads to success.
