Expectations are strong beliefs something will take place. Someone’s expectation can either lead to the satisfaction of success or to the disappointment of failure. For anything to be successful, the key is to focus on achieving the desired outcome. Whenever we take a chance on something new, we choose to believe it will be a success. And as long as we are realistic, we can avoid the disappointment that may result from having too high an expectation.
When we initiate change, it impacts not only our lives but influences the lives of those around us. The changes we experience in our external environment happens because of other people, situations, or events. And the changes we implement not only alters our life but a transformation takes place within us. When anything changes in our lives, we change too. Think about this for a moment, what would materialize if we allowed for transformation to take its rightful place? We always seem to be bucking the trend, opposing people, resisting situations.
WHAT HOLDS VALUE AND MEANING?
Perhaps we need time to sort through matters first. Whether matters of work, of responsibility, even matters of the heart, before we can make the necessary changes. To take a time-out and press pause long enough to reflect on what’s important to us before we create our mission/value statements. When we can reflect on what is relevant and holds meaning, we express its importance. This alone can result in something great taking place in our lives. Our imagination and creativity unfold as we take the reins and lead life in the direction of our dreams. It’s essential to go with the inspirational flow.
Your expectations opens or closes the doors of your supply, If you expect grand things, and work honestly for them, they will come to you, your supply will correspond with your expectation.
EXPECTATIONS
Although, it’s not always easy to just go with the flow because we all have the tendency to want control over some facet, situation, or person. We even control ourselves by holding back. Why are we so easily intimidated, and so hard on ourselves? It’s difficult to just lie low and chill when we have obligations, commitments, and dreams. It’s even more difficult when plagued by doubt.
However, what usually carries us through uncertainty, is learning to let go. To let go of trying to control those situations in which we have no control. Just allowing for things to fall into place, we give ourselves a break. This time-out allows our hearts to guide us to where it is we need to be physically, emotionally, and spiritually. In lieu of controlling every aspect of our lives, why not take some time to just let go, and enjoy the journey instead?
A life without expectation results in a life with inspiration.
SELF-CARE
Managing expectation is never easy because we can’t always predict the outcome. Oh sure, we can paint a rosy picture, and hope for the best. We know things don’t always turn out the way we would like them to. When this happens our attitude toward others can change. Whenever our expectation of others exceeds our expectation of self, selfishness enters the picture. This leads to judging others unfairly for their shortcomings, flaws, and weaknesses. Unfortunately, we spend too much time judging others without looking at ourselves. A biblical reference here would be, to cast the first stone. To be selfish isn’t about you being the best version you can be, caring for yourself, caring for your heart, that’s self-care. Self-care is you managing you, your thoughts, beliefs, and attitude, along with all of those lofty ideals and expectations.
