We come to a point when something has to give, a period when we demand a change. We feel inspired to create a space we can call our own. It’s inertia meeting and collaborating with inspiration. We can do so much in this age of technology. Thanks to computers and the internet, many of us have the opportunity to work from home.
When the weather isn’t very cooperative, we find ourselves enduring blizzards, windstorms, and torrential downpours to get to our place of work. Rather than battle the elements, we simply head to an area in our homes and log into our computers. I must admit that even I have to drag myself away to get some fresh air and socialize outside a space that I refer to as my retreat. When I just want to enjoy quiet time, to escape from the demanding world that is when I enter this created workspace. It’s a place where I connect the most to my creativity.
SEEKING SOLITUDE TO BASK IN CREATIVITY
With everyone on the bandwagon these days for website real estate, we find ourselves perhaps getting out a lot less than we did in the past. We can order everything, have it delivered, and never have to leave our homes. There are times when I must push myself out the door. The problem with being a homebody is that it can become a habit that may eventually be hard to break and before you know it, you discover you’re a hermit. What I found was I rather enjoyed this alone time. What writer doesn’t seek this time of solitude to bask in the creative zone?
DO WHAT YOU LOVE, LOVE HOW YOU WORK
Sometimes we get so carried away with work that we tend to forget the importance of taking a break. The opportunity to stretch and take our eyes off the computer screen. By doing the work you love can have you losing track of time. Perhaps you discover that working from home is ideal. Many self-starters began successful businesses, enterprises, and corporations from home. They had an idea, a dream, did the research, and took the initiative to make something great happen. You can create something exceptional by taking the time to reflect on what motivates, drives, and excites you.
When people go to work, they shouldn’t have to leave their hearts at home.
INSPIRED BUSINESS FROM A HOBBY
What do you dream of doing? Perhaps it is something you can start from home likened to a hobby that can turn into a lucrative thriving business. With the creation of a blog, or a website where you can set up an online store. It’s incredible what we can do when we get creative. It’s when you remain true to who you are, to what you know, to what you love, that’s when you become inspired. Motivated and encouraged to take the necessary steps toward a dream vocation.
If you are an inspired writer who keeps a diary, or a journal that can be the starting point for a very successful venture, no one but you will know. You can start a blog or an e-book with the personal content you already have. We are social beings, we love connecting, and communicating and through social networks, it makes it easy for us to do so. That is why Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and Instagram are very exceptional networking platforms.
CHOOSING TO WORK FROM HOME
When my employer offered the work from home option, I accepted it wholeheartedly. Since then, I never looked back. I found I was more productive because of fewer interruptions. I had extra time in the day since my commute time of forty-five minutes each way, was no longer a factor. The most important part of working from home was the ability to incorporate a work-life balance. Perhaps it is more like a work-life choice that makes a profound difference; simply choosing to work from a space you love, doing what it is you love.
