Seasons come and go, and so do people. We leave things that may not work well and choose things that do. I can’t believe we are beginning a new month, August. For me, August depicts the last month of summer. I know, for some of us summer doesn’t end until the fall equinox on the third week of September. However, after the labor day long weekend, I see it as the turning point, the entry phase of autumn. Personally, I love the four seasons. Each brings in its own distinctive quality and magic. From the vibrant colors and warmth of summer, the colorful warm undertones of autumn, to the crispy whiteness of winter. We mustn’t forget the restoration of spring’s showers washing away seasons past and introducing new blessings.
When the seasons shift, even the subtle beginning, the scent of a promised change, I feel something stir inside me. Hopefulness? Gratitude? Openness? Whatever it is, it’s welcome.
A NEW MONTH CAN BE VIEWED AS A NEW BEGINNING TO ACHIEVE THE EXTRAORDINARY
Every new day as with every new month can bring about something special. Likewise, with every ending, change gently reminds us of a new beginning. And as the seasons and months change, it invites us to change with it, to look at things differently, to have a different viewpoint and outlook. To take a quick glance at where we’ve been and plan where we’re going. To assess our happiness. Are we happy with who we are, with where we’re at, and with who plays a role in our lives? Were there things we should have, could have, but didn’t or were there things we did, but shouldn’t have?
There are seasons in life. Don’t ever let anyone try to deny you the joy of one season because they believe you should stay in another season… Listen to yourself. Trust your instincts. Keep your perspective.
SEASONS AND TIME GIVE US THE OPPORTUNITY TO ASSESS WHERE WE’RE AT
The beauty of time is its fluidity, flowing from one second to the next moment, always giving more. Above all, it gives us another chance to revise things that perhaps weren’t right or alter what didn’t work. Time permits us to create something better. It allows us to reconsider those elements and facets which usher in the peace and joy we always seek at a time of transition. Perhaps, it even reminds us, we can do great things if we set our sights to do better.
We can’t change the seasons or the months, nor can we extend time, but we can change the way we view the time we have. We can visualize each new gifted day as it unfolds before us and envision the uniqueness of what each new month can bring. Maybe we see the passing of time like the turning of seasons as ordinary. However, when we shift our perspective, we can welcome the new month and make each day… extraordinary.
