What if we were to practice patience and acceptance with not only others but with ourselves? To balance out what needs to be balanced within and get on with our lives. The question to ask, “What matters?”
But first things first. It’s essential to put the past to rest (whether it’s something that just happened or something that took place years ago). It’s important to face our truth, and just let stuff go. Seriously, we get so hung up on the wrong things that the right things have no way of showing up.
A sense of self becomes such a predominant factor in the eyes of the beholder, only to be followed by the role others play. Perhaps it’s the other way around. The role others play changes one’s outlook on life.
The “He said, she said, he did, she didn’t do”… does it really matter? Honestly, we get so wrapped up in such nonsense only to stop caring about what truly matters.
Peace matters.
Love matters.
Happiness matters.
You matter.
People who surround you matter.
Everyone matters.
Unfortunately, we all walk a tightrope between ego and humility. What if we were open and honest with ourselves? When we stand in our truth, perhaps that’s when the healing process begins. And yes, healing is a process. It’s something we work through in order to get past what we had to go through.
WHAT MATTERS
Along the way, we learn how to cope, and we learn how forgiveness works. But first, we have to forgive ourselves, the things we said, the things we did, our mistakes. And only then will we garner what it takes to forgive others. When we work from the inside out, that’s when something amazing happens.
Work on you. Strive to achieve what it is you deem impossible. Work for the things, the people, the places you love. Work at building better relationships. But most importantly, work at what matters.
When we focus our attention on creating a better life, when we stand steadfast in our integrity, that’s when we can release the stuff that doesn’t matter.
The key here is to set yourself apart from the rest and just continue to do your very best. Focus on what’s important, on what really, truly matters.
Your heart never lies. Ask, what is the right action for this moment? Follow your deepest truth.
